Poem With My Eyes Closed

So tired today.
When will life slow down?
Just in time for school to start?

Friends coming from every direction.
Oregon, Idaho, Michigan and Hawaii
Plus a few trips of my own.
Michigan, Oregon, Vancouver, B.C.

No rest in sight.
Another one comes this week.
And she brings with her a challenge.
Recovery from surgery.

Maybe this is why Winter is needed?
The pace slows down
And no one wants to visit Seattle.
