How do people without parents get through a cold? I can't get through a flu without needing to talk to my mom. I could care less what she talks about, I just need to hear her voice.
I believe that people without parents have stored, deep in the recesses of psyche and soul-precious parent moments. They call these moments up-as needed. A dose here, a dose there.
